Funding the embodied engagement of cultural identity is tricky.... We need your help!

The biggest challenge to socio-cultural transformation in the West today is the prevalence of apathy, overwhelm, and dissociation. The artwork produced through MOVEMENTS OF BERLIN will be successful in countering these psychological constraints because it is artwork centralized on relationship, community-building and accessing the internal resources of the body; the deeply human nature of Somatic Psychology, paired in this new way with Peace initiatives and the expressive arts, will support audience members to encounter their own humanity through these works, and to walk away feeling more vitalized to choose a brighter future, together.

A properly funded MOVEMENTS OF BERLIN will birth the compelling pair of qualitative artwork (written and performed) and quantitative (survey-based) data to illuminate the themes Germany has address that institutions in the US must prioritize. The two art functions of this study will no doubt illuminate a sense of reflection in the audience, and in doing so, fans the flames of awareness and contemplation that Americans so desperately need.  With enough buzz (and full funding) for MOVEMENTS OF BERLIN, this research can evolve into a service-based social enterprise with consultancies, film screenings, and speaking engagements.

As the sensory-based learning and artistic processes of this research become more accessible, the functions of this work can easily become applied to any group -- from corporate offices processing company-based transition, to other nations actively addressing cultural trauma. When connecting to the wisdom of the body, the sky's the limit!

We all share a stake in the ability of Western nations to self-regulate; this research populates the idea that we can, and do, shape the outcome of our shared future with every choice we make. When the next generation comes of age, and they ask us if we chose to resource ourselves and each other, to be thoughtful and considerate of the future we’re leaving for them to inherit…

What will you say?

qualitative, cultural research through interviews

collective contemplation through embodied experience

audience-building through distribution

peace-buildung through increased intercultural literacy
